• The investigation of the signaling pathways involved in the expression of genes associated with osteoblast differentiation and proliferation of the human periodontal ligament.
• The role of patient’s age, cellular senescence and ionizing radiation on the differentiation of human periodontal ligament fibroblasts and their response to mechanical stimulation.

Series of research projects conducted at  the Institute of Biosciences and Applications, NCSR «Dimokritos» and at the department of Biological chemistry of the School of Medicine, University of Athens, Greece.

• Extraction vs non-extraction in Orthodontics.

       Series of retrospective  research projects on:

-the impact of the extractions on the soft tissue and skeletal profile assessed through cephalometrics and geometric morphometrics.

-the measurements/variables which possess unique discriminating power between extraction and non-extraction treatment, thus accounting the most for the extraction decision in Orthodontics.

-the use of the ABO objective grading system in: the evaluation of treatment results of extraction vs non extraction cases as well as  of university vs private practice cases.

-the evaluation of arch-width  transverse dimension changes in borderline extraction versus non-extraction cases.
